美國雜誌編輯協會(ASME),公佈了40年來美國雜誌最佳封面Top 40。參與此次封面選舉的作品大約有450個,評審委員會由資深的雜誌編輯、藝術家和設計師組成。
911的相關封面果然也佔了多數,這場在美國人心中難以抹滅的劫難。而除了有些較人震撼的照片和文字之外,許多都是來自照片中人物本身的天生魅力以及充滿傳奇的故事。
第一名的Rolling Stone 雜誌封面正是由John Lennon和深愛的妻子小野洋子的親密合照,即使逝世25周年後,John Lennon撼動全球樂迷的不單單只是音樂而已,小野洋子日前曾經說過:「I feel John is around。」
第二名是霹靂老惡娃Demi Moore在嫁給愛偷吃的光頭Bruce Willis四年後要生小孩時的模樣,(這樣的拍照模式也成為了各大女明星模仿的榜樣,要不要賭看看小A屎拍不拍。)而14年後的今天改嫁給年紀可以當他兒子,帥到無法擋的Ashton Kutcher,連同三位十七歲、十四歲與十一歲的女兒們。
到這邊我想要亂跳介紹自己比較有興趣的,畢竟第四名Saul Steinberg所畫的曼哈頓也代表著與世界的連結,只是對我這外國人來說感觸不多。對圖片有不了解的可以看最下面各個圖片的解說:)
其實,這一系列的得獎作品或多或少也意味著時事變遷和許多的造化弄人。第三名的 Muhammad Ali最後也真的被毒品以及賭博給萬箭穿心。第10名的Afghan girl最主要的意義也在於17年後,竟然能夠在戰亂後的阿富汗中重新找到了本人,進而促使世界各地的人道組織踴躍捐入了近150萬美元的資金,大大地改善了阿富汗當地的生活。
而10月25日,APE將在台灣開幕的BUSY WORK SHOP台灣支店,影響NIGO最深,他本人最愛的六、七零年代的當代普普藝術大師Andy Warhol也榜上有兩名,看著第五名的封面我們也整個掉入在叫人難忘的Campbell’s soup can中,另外像是37名的tide洗衣粉,以及由pop art的先驅Lichtenstein所畫的第17名The gun in America,至今,pop藝術依舊在世界發光,只是些許遺憾的是,反到成了一些人用金錢給擦出來的奢華光亮。
此外也可以看到評審們是多麼注重「人權。」這個話題,Michael Jordan 飛躍在白人社會之中、黑人女性第一次登上女性時尚雜誌、非洲女性上了PlayBoy...等,以及有關越戰的封面和美國著名脫口秀主持人Ellen DeGeneres公開出櫃的宣言,所謂自由言論的美利堅社會也可說是這一本本爆炸性的圖片和文字累積而成。
而美人總是不會被遺忘,不管是叫人緬懷的黛安娜王妃(Princess Diana)或是現今的Nicole Kidman都是榜上有名。
那,對岸火熱的太空人新聞呢,早在1969年就上了雜誌封面過。(我比較不能體會那種感覺就是了。)
